Total Protein and Paper Electrophoretic Fraction of the Serum of Urolithiasis Patients

Abstract
Many reports have been found in the literature regarding the electrophoretic study of various urogenital diseases, but those on urolithiasis are relaitvely rare. It is authors opinion that the correlation between types of urolithiasis and the dysfunction of other organs must also be elucidated into detail.
On this view point, the author has studied the total protein and paper-electrophoretic fractions of the. serum derived from 3 types of urolithiais in 42 patients visited our department during the period from October, 1962 to September. 1965 Age distribution was between 16- and 60 years of age and duration of history was from 2 months to 3 years.
1. Total protein and electrophhoretic fractions of 9 patient¢¥s serum of acid type Isohydruria:
a) The amount of total protien decreased slightly.
b) Albumin decreased very slightly.
c) Alpha 1 and alpha 2 globulin decreased moderately.
d) Beta globulin an gamma globulin increased moderately.
e) A/G ratio decreased moderately.
2. Total protein and electrophoretic fractions of 30 patient¢¥s serum of neutral type Isohydruria:
a) Very slight decrease of total protein amount was noted.
b) Albumin remained unchanged.
c) Slight decrease was recognized in alpha 1 and gamma globulin.
d) A/G ratio increased very slightly.
3. Total protein and electrophoretic fractions of 13 patient¢¥s serum of alkaline type Isohydruria:
a) The amount of total protein decreased very slightly.
b) Albumin reamined unchanged.
c) Alpha 1 globulin decreased very slightly.
d) Alpha 2 globulin increased remarkably.
e) Beta globulin decreased moderatedly.
f) Gama globulin decreased slightly.
g) A/G ratio decreased very slightly.
All of the above patterns were compared with normal rate.
